Ingredients

For the Biscuit Base
  • 1 package Biscuit Dough Use pre-made dough for speed, or whip up your own for a fresh base.
For the Seafood Filling
  • 1 cup Shrimp Ensure it's cooked and well-drained to prevent sogginess.
  • 1 cup Crab Meat Feel free to substitute with chicken or tofu for a different twist.
For the Cheesy Goodness
  • 1 cup Mozzarella or Provolone Cheese Mix different cheeses for unique flavors.
For the Flavor Boost
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon Mustard Enhances the filling with a zesty kick.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Rosemary Dried rosemary works in a pinch.

Equipment

  • skillet
  • Baking Sheet
  • biscuit cutter
  • Parchment Paper

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a skillet, heat a drizzle of oil over medium heat. Add the cooked, drained shrimp and crab meat, then stir in Dijon mustard and chopped fresh rosemary. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes, until heated through and fragrant.
  2. While your filling cools slightly, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  3. Roll out your pre-made biscuit dough on a lightly floured surface. Cut out circles using a biscuit cutter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon a generous amount of the shrimp and crab filling onto each dough circle. Top with a slice of mozzarella or provolone cheese, fold the dough over to create a pocket, sealing the edges gently.
  4. Place the assembled melts in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes until golden-brown and the cheese is melted.
  5. Once baked to perfection, carefully remove the biscuit melts from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes. Serve warm.
