Ingredients

For the Filling
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
For the Crust
  • 2 crusts pie crust store-bought or homemade

Equipment

  • large skillet
  • 9-inch pie dish

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown 1 pound of ground beef and 1 pound of Italian sausage, breaking them into small pieces. Cook for about 8-10 minutes until no longer pink, then drain any excess fat. Stir in 1 cup of sliced pepperoni and 1 cup of pizza sauce, mixing well until combined, approximately 5 minutes.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out your pie crust and fit it into a greased 9-inch pie dish, allowing some crust to hang over the edges. Pour in the filling and sprinkle 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top.
  3. Carefully place another pie crust over the filling and cheese, pinch the edges to seal, and trim off excess crust. Make small slits in the top crust for steam to escape.
  4. Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  5. Allow the pie to cool for about 10-15 minutes before slicing into wedges and serving warm.
