Preparation Steps
- Heat a small pan over medium heat, add 1 cup of water and 2 tablespoons of sugar, stirring until dissolved and boiling.
- Combine 1 cup of glutinous rice flour with the hot water in a mixing bowl, stirring until forming a dough.
- Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Divide the dough into golf ball-sized portions, flatten, add 1 teaspoon of red bean paste, and seal.
- Moisten each ball in water, then coat generously with sesame seeds, pressing to adhere.
- Heat oil in a wok to 300°F (150°C) and fry the sesame balls for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Increase heat to 350°F (180°C) and fry for an additional 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and cool slightly before serving.
