  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter for roux
  • 4 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour to thicken cheese sauce
  • 2 cups Milk whole milk recommended
  • 1 cup Cream or non-dairy alternative
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese freshly shredded preferred
For Flavoring
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Dill or reduce dried dill if substituting
  • 1 large Egg to bind mixture

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prep your baking dish.
  2. Combine ricotta cheese, egg, fresh dill, dill pickle brine, and salt in a mixing bowl and mix until creamy.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour, add milk and cream gradually, and cook until thick.
  4. Spread cheese sauce in the baking dish, dip lasagna noodles in dill pickle brine, layer noodles, ricotta mixture, and pickle slices.
  5. Spread remaining cheese sauce on top, cover with foil, and bake for 40 minutes.
  6. Add shredded cheddar and dill pickles, bake uncovered for another 8-10 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
  7. Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
